Éric Théroux

Assistant Deputy Minister, Québec Ministry of Sustainable Development, the Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change

Éric Théroux is Assistant Deputy Minister, Fight against Climate Change at the Ministry for Sustainable Development, Environment and Fight against Climate Change (MDDELCC) since November 2017. He was previously, from 2012 to 2017, Assistant Deputy Minister for Policy, Francophone and Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of International Relations and la Francophonie (MRIF). Working for the Quebec Government since 1987, he served at Justice Department as legal adviser, than Legal Director for many ministries in matters linked to international, administrative, native and public law. He had been previously Director General both at MRIF and at the Ministry of Employment and Social Solidarity.

Bachelor of Law from the University of Montréal and called to the Bar of Québec in 1987, he has also a Master’s degree in Law (European community law) from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He had been lecturer in International law and Associate Editor of Le Guide de la pratique des Relations internationales du Québec.
