Mike Tamor received his PhD in Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1982, whereupon he joined the Physics Department at the Ford Scientific Research Laboratory. Starting in 1994, he led research and development of hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) and fuel cell (FCV) propulsion systems.
In 2013 he was appointed Henry Ford Technical Fellow for Energy Systems and Sustainability. His present responsibilities include studies of future mobility needs, the integration of the stationary and mobile energy economies, and pathways to renewable transportation fuel.
